Experimental and Numerical Study of Cyclic Stress–Strain Response and Fatigue Crack Initiation Life of Mid-Carbon Steel under Constant and Multi-Step Amplitude Loading

چکیده
This paper investigates the fatigue cyclic deformation behavior of mid-carbon steel. Uniaxial tensile loading tests and under constant multi-step amplitude steps are performed to characterize influence history. The material is shown exhibit different uniaxial ratcheting depending on A smooth gradual increase in softening observed smaller stress/strain conditions. Based experimental characterization, numerical investigations carried out reproduce stress–strain variable load ranges. nonlinear reproduced by means an elastoplasticity model called Fatigue SS Model (hereafter, FSS model). main feature ability describe within a macroscopically elastic stress state. good agreement between results proves reliability catch realistic response problems. Furthermore, present study introduces method for prediction crack initiation life conditions based cumulative plastic work.
